Step-by-Step Process for Canada GSS Visa
Step 1
Determine Eligibility
To qualify for GSS processing, you must meet one of the following:
- Job in Skill Type 0 or Skill Level A (under NOC – National Occupation Classification). Examples: IT professionals, engineers, managers, etc.
- Intra-company transferee (e.g., a senior manager or executive being transferred to Canada).
- Employer uses Global Talent Stream (GTS) under LMIA.
Step 2
Employer Applies for LMIA (if required)
- LMIA = Labour Market Impact Assessment.
- Many GSS workers apply via Global Talent Stream (Category A or B).
- Employer must work with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
- LMIA-exempt workers (e.g., intra-company transferees) can skip this.
