Determine Your Eligibility
Identify which category you belong to:
- Investors: Real estate or business investment, meeting minimum thresholds.
- Property Owners: Must own property in Bahrain valued at BHD 200,000 or more.
- Highly Skilled Professionals / Talented Individuals: Those in sectors like healthcare, tech, finance, education, arts, or science, with demonstrated high income or recognized achievement.
- Retirees: Foreign retirees with steady financial resources or pension income. Specific minimums vary by source—some mention BHD 4,000 monthly, others a lower threshold of BHD 500.
Collect Required Documents
Prepare common and category-specific documentation:
Common Requirements for All Applicants:
- Valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity
- Recent passport-sized photos
- Latest 6-month bank statements
- Valid health insurance covering Bahrain
- Police clearance certificate (if required)
- Completed application form
Category-Specific Documents:
- Investors: Investment documents or proof of business holdings. Minimum thresholds from Fragomen: real estate BHD 200,000, or business investment BHD 100,000.
- Property Owners: Title deed(s) showing property ownership of at least BHD 200,000.
- Professionals / Talented Individuals: Employment contract, salary proof, talent certificates, educational qualifications, or patents as applicable.
- Retirees: Proof of retirement status and evidence of sufficient income or pension. Some refer to a monthly minimum of BHD 4,000 , while others indicate BHD 500 .
Submit the Application
Apply online via the official Bahrain Golden Residency portal, managed by the NPRA (Nationality, Passports & Residence Affairs). A dedicated portal and hotline are available.
Alternatively, applications may be submitted at authorized immigration offices. Ensure accuracy to avoid delays.
Pay the Fees
Application Fee: Approximately BHD 4 (non-refundable) per person.
Residency Issuance Fee: Around BHD 300 per person, payable upon approval.
Application Review
The NPRA will review your application, verify documents, and may request additional information or schedule an interview
Approval & Visa Issuance
Once approved, you receive a Golden Residency permit—valid for up to 10 years, and renewable if eligibility continues.
No local sponsor is required. You may work, invest, sponsor family members, and even hire domestic workers.
Renewal & Compliance
